In the photo book mmmMarbles, Espen Gleditsch presents close-up photographs of the ancient Parthenon sculptures as they are displayed in the Duveen Gallery at the British Museum in London.

The fact that this frieze is located in England is controversial. Greece has long demanded its return, while the British argue that the frieze is better preserved and more accessible to a wider audience while it is exhibited in London.

Gleditsch's photographs can be seen as contributions to this discussion about the circulation and maintenance of the sculptures.
