Founded by architect Ben Wenhou Yu and designer Yilei Wang in Bergen, Norway, Northing is a nonprofit cultural organisation with a focus on publication, design, music, cultural events and cross-cultural communication. Based in Bergen, Norway and with an East Asian cultural background, Northing is dedicated to promoting Norwegian art and culture to East Asia and the other way round. Northing consists of Northing Space, Kinakaal Forlag, and Northing On Air.
Northing Space is a multi-functional cultural space in downtown Bergen, Norway. The main function of the space is to promote and mediate contemporary East Asian art and culture in Bergen, through exhibitions and cultural events.
Kinakaal Forlag is an independent publisher with an aim in engaging artists and writers from Norway and East Asia to collaborate head-on in the form of a book.
Northing On Air is an online platform which functions as a supplement for the physical activities of Northing. By making short introduction videos of artists and conducting interviews and online discussions, Northing wishes to reach out to more people in the world.
