Christmas in New York collects a new series of drawings made during the holiday season. The holidays, though filled with pretty decorations, are also fraught with dysfunctional family drama and social pressure to celebrate. At the time these drawings were made a seasonal flu was spreading though New York causing physical ailments that mirror the psychological ones that often saturate the holiday season.

Quintessa Matranga was born in 1989 in New York. Recent shows include Carlos / Ishikawa (London), Karma International (Los Angeles), and Queer Thoughts (New York). She lives and works in New York.
