Back from the
mountain of the Dragons

  • (b.1995) is a ceramic artist based in Bergen. She holds a Master’s degree in Fine Art from the ’KMD‘ academy in Bergen (2024) and a Bachelor’s in Ceramic Art & Design from ’Bezalel Academy‘ (2020). In her practice, she explores local material cultures through a contemporary lens. Centering on the tension between material and craft, she engages historical references and the enduring dialogue between body and clay. While clay remains her primary medium, Souf often integrates it with analogue photography, performance, and video, forming a cross-disciplinary approach that is essential to her works.

  • (b.1995) is an artist and musician from Trondheim. Tobias holds an MFA in Fine Art from the Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design at the University of Bergen. His work focuses on the emotional consequences—such as shame and irritability—of social structures and cultural traditions on the individual. Through sculpture, installation, and sound art, he materialises his reflections on architecture, history, and the objective world into works with a therapeutic dimension.

Wednesday, 12 November, at 19 o’clock, we invite you to a special artist talk and presentation with Souf Alon and Tobias Kvendseth, who have both recently returned from an artist residency in China, located in the beautiful, hilly rural area of Long Quan — meaning the Fountain of Dragons. They will share their experiences and inspirations from this journey to the East.

The event will take place in Fossestuva at our dear neighbour, Bergen House of Literature / Boksalongen Following the talk, you are warmly welcome to a finissage of the current exhibition Un-Earthed, Un-Veiling by Korean artist Lydia SooJin Park.
