CHINA MEETS NORWAY IN A BOOKSHELF NO.5 / TVILLINGSONG (intertwined)
In February 2022, Northing organised the screening event entailed a panel discussion. It’s also a side program of the exhibition at Hordaland Kunstsenter and is included in Fosun Art Centre’s special program International Film Salon. The panel discussion about Anne Tveit Knutsen’s artistic project Tvillingsong took place at Hordaland Kunstsenter in Bergen and Fosun Foundation Art Centre in Shanghai, with guests on both sides connected online. The General Consulate of Norway gave a speech to open the event in Shanghai. The conversation was centred around the documentary film Tvillingsong and its companion book with the same title by video artist Anne Tveit Knutsen. The book is a collaboration between the artist and Northing, published by Northing’s publishing house Kinakaal Forlag. The artist, together with social-anthropologist Gro Moldstad, were sitting in Bergen whilst artist and curator Chen Yun and writer btr were joining from Shanghai. Ben Wenhou Yu from Northing was also on the panel to support the discussion. Prior to the discussion, the film was screened for the audience in Shanghai.
The discussion explored how visual arts can play an important role for a wide range of people – whether they are educated in fine arts or not, and whether they live with or without developmental disabilities.
