is a Bergen-inspired ice cream bar located in one of the city's oldest shopping streets, Skostredet. Here, we make homemade ice cream using the finest ingredients from Western Norway, as well as a selection of sustainable ingredients from around the world.
At its core, Hallaisen seeks to reconnect with the historical roots of Bryggen and Vågsbunnen as a meeting place for the exchange of local and international goods, ideas, and cultures.
For the founders, She Fah and May, Hallaisen is both a reunion and an exploration in the universe of flavors. After many years traveling the world, we bring with us new tastes from the East and a curiosity for what grows along the mountainsides and coastline here in Norway.
As the name suggests, Hallaisen is a friendly and welcoming greeting, and hopefully the start of a conversation. We are always open to creative collaborations across food, music, culture, design, and urban development, and we hope to contribute to making Bergen a slightly more open and warm city.
