#01 -IdleBeats
IdleBeats is the first independent screen printing studio in China, founded in 2009 in Shanghai by artist duo Nini Sum (China) and Gregor Koerting (Germany). Dedicated to bringing original, hand-printed, and soulful art to audiences in China and around the world, their screen prints capture the evolving urban landscape and the shifting rhythms of daily life against the backdrop of China’s rapid modernization. Rooted in a unique blend of Eastern and Western perspectives, their distinctive visual language has not only attracted a global community of art collectors but also garnered international attention from media outlets such as BBC and CNN.
As multidisciplinary artists, Nini and Gregor constantly push the boundaries of their creative practice, working across illustration, album cover art, sculpture, and installation. Beyond the studio, they are deeply connected to the music scene, having created posters for numerous musicians and bands both locally and internationally. They also actively engage with communities through workshops and live art events in collaboration with brands, schools, and educational institutions around the world. Their works have been exhibited across China, Europe, the United States, and Southeast Asia, earning growing recognition and acclaim.
